The design of these water carafes has been inspired by those found in Bistros and bars throughout Europe at the end of the 19th Century. The decanters advertised popular products, and were a popular marketing tool at the time.

The most popular method for drinking Swiss or French Absinthe was to slowly drip water over a spoon suspended over the glass, holding a sugar cube. When the spoon fell into the glass and the sugar had dissolved the drink was ready. The amount of sugar used is up to the individual!

Whether you're planning to use these decanters for Absinthe drinking or just general table water, they are a wonderful item and sure to be a focal point!

This style measure 23.3(H) x 11.1(diameter) cm (at the base). It will hold approximately 730 millilitres.

Mouth-blown in clear glass, we recommend hand washing this item to maintain its appearance.

Also available: Bistrot Loupe decanter in black or red & blue, the Jourdan Loop  & the Bistro de L'Eau style.
