Absinthe Spoon: Les Cœurs
Traditionally, absinthe is prepared by adding an ounce of the spirit to a glass and then dripping iced water over a sugar cube. The sugared water infuses the absinthe, releasing the oils of the botanicals - anise, fennel and grand wormwood. To achieve this accurately (and more importantly, aesthetically) you're going to need an absinthe spoon! Made to be rested on the glass rim and support the cube whilst the water drips in. This design is known as the 'hearts spoon' because of the four heart-shaped cut outs in its design, and is a replica of one of the oldest designs of absinthe spoon.
