Jourdan Loop Water Decanter for Absinthe
The design of these water carafes has been inspired by those found in Bistros and bars throughout Europe at the end of the 19th Century. The dome at the bottom magnifies when water is added, and was a popular marketing tool at the time.
The most popular method for drinking Swiss or French Absinthe was to slowly drip water over a spoon suspended over the glass, holding a sugar cube. When the spoon fell into the glass and the sugar had dissolved the drink was ready. The amount of sugar used is up to the individual!
Whether you're planning to use these decanters for Absinthe drinking or just general table water, they are a wonderful item and sure to be a focal point!
